A unique and new idea for summer camps, Steel Pans and STEM Summer Jam Camp will provide an unforgettable summer camp experience for generations of children. As teachers, we have always been committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where students can make friends, learn new skills, and have fun.

Our Programmes
We offer a variety of programmes at Steel Pans and STEM Summer Jam Camp to meet the needs and interests of every camper ages 8 to 14 (grades 3 to 8). Explore your musical talents as you learn traditional rhythms on the djembe drums. Learn to play the steel pans as well as gain new skills in various Science Technology Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.)
challenges.
NOTE: no previous drumming experience is needed!

Our Staff
Steel Pans and STEM Summer Jam Camp is run by two certified teachers through the Ontario College of Teachers, each with more than 20 years of classroom experience. Our lead music teacher is Abby Smallwood, who has been bringing to life the beautiful rhthyms of the djembe drums and more recently the sounds of the steel pans, to our school community. Jennifer Kowch brings her knowledge of STEM challenges and physical activity to keep students on their toes and their minds engaged.

AGES: 8 to 14 (grades 3 to 8)
DAILY SCHEDULE: (9 am - 3:30 pm) Djembe ensemble, steel pan ensemble, S.T.E.M. challenges, outdoor recreation, lunch and snack breaks
Before and After Care Available:
8:30am-9AM and 3:30-4PM ($10/day)
PRICING: $225/week
CAMP REFUND POLICY:
Cancellations prior to June 23, 2025 will receive a full refund of the paid amount, less a $75 administration fee for the cancellation.
Cancellations after June 23, 2025, are not refundable.

Can I register for a partial week or single days?
In addition to offering a full week session, we also offer single day registrations for the price of $60.00. Please contact us directly to register for a single day (or days) and to make payment arrangements.
How can I pay for camp?

Drop Off & Pick-Up:
Drop off is at 9:00 am. Staff will greet campers at the front entrance of the building. All campers are required to sign in and out with camp staff.
Pick-up is at 3:30 pm.
Is there before and/or after care for my child?
Yes, we offer before care starting at 8:30AM and after care from 3:30-4PM. The cost for before and after care is $10/day.
What should my camper bring/wear to camp?
A peanut/nut free lunch and snacks, a water bottle, hat, sunscreen (staff will not be able to apply sunscreen) and running shoes.
How are EpiPens stored?
We require that all EpiPens be carried on the campers body at all times, in either a fanny-pack or other small bag. Camp staff is First Aid trained.
